The second season of GunnyTime with R. Lee Ermey focuses on vintage and exceptional weaponry and related technology, has premiered on the Outdoor Channel, shot in 4K.
gunnytimeThe series exploits the outsized personality of the former US Marine Corps staff NCO and drill instructor, Golden Globe nominee for his role in Stanley Kubrick’s Full Metal Jacket, and veteran of more than 60 feature films.
The show was shot with Panasonic VariCam 35 4K cinema camera/recorders and director Hal Long, a long time user of Panasonic P2 cameras said that both seasons of Gunny Time have been shot and finished in 4K, and air in HD on the Outdoor Channel.
“The producers (including Bill Rogin and Cole Klapman) are committed to having a 4K master for residual use,” Long said. “And for season two, I wanted a 4K camera that would deliver better colour accuracy and separation.”
Outdoor Channel recently expanded its HD footprint in Europe, with deals with cross-regional pay-TV providers Zone and M7 Group in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Belgium and the Netherlands. The deal marks the debut of a new, second pay-TV Outdoor Channel feed which will initially be offered in the Familie package via CanalDigitaal in the Netherlands, in the Basic tier of TVVlaanderen in Belgium and Skylink's Kombi package in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The channel will be available on ASTRA 23.5° East.
