Tricolor TV offers first Ultra channel package in Russia

Russia’s largest pay-TV operator Tricolor TV has revealed that on 15 November it became the first in the country to offer a 4K/Ultra HD TV channel package.
Subscribers to Tricolor TV will get access to films and documentaries, as well as sports and entertainment programmes, broadcast in 4K at no extra charge. Genre films will be a major part of the content with three original offerings a day and repeated exhibitions of the content of two previous days making the core of the broadcast schedule.
“We have coincidentally launched 4KTV channels in November 2015, in the days of celebration of the 10th anniversary of the company,” said Alexey Kholodov, chief communication officer, Tricolor TV. “The start of full-size HDTV broadcasting is a beginning of a new decade of activities of Tricolor TV and a new age of the Russian digital TV market.”
