Indian direct-to-home (DTH) TV operator Tata Sky is offering a showcase children’s channel for the next three months to increase engagement with its younger viewers.
TataSkyChildren’s films and other curated programming from India and around the world will populate the pop-up channel, with content from studios such as Celluloid Dreams, Ghibli, Trust Nordisk, Folimage and Entertainment One.
“Kids are the most delicate target. India has one of the largest populations of kids. The genre commands 6% of the total viewership share on television on an all-India basis,” said Paolo Agostonelli, chief content & business development officer, Tata Sky.
The Indian pay-TV platform already boasts 21 kids’ channels and four interactive services for young viewers.
