VIVO IPL breaks viewer record in India

In its sixth week, the VIVO Indian Premier League (IPL) has recorded a cumulative reach of 347 million, the highest for any sporting event on television in India, and a 60% growth since its opening week.
ipl2016Broadcast by Sony Max, Sony Six and Sony ESPN (part of Sony Pictures Networks India), VIVO IPL achieved a viewership of 793 GVM in prime time at an all India level in its sixth week and was far ahead of the No 2 channel which stood at 377 gross voice measurement (GVM), according to figures by TV audience measurement company BARC. Even in Hindi speaking markets (HSM), VIVO IPL with 578 GVM in prime time was way ahead of the No 2 channel at 311 GVM.
Markets that increased in this week were Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, Rajasthan, North East, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra /Goa and Bihar.
