Total Media Networks, OTT Networks merge to form UUX online TV service
    Editor | 25-11-2013

Claiming to provide the ‘ultimate’ user experience over mobile and fixed networks, Total Media Networks and OTT Networks have merged to form UUX.

Incorporated in the UK, with offices in Madrid, Miami, Mexico and Sao Paulo, UUX will set out to offer network operators with a one-stop, market-ready Internet TV-as-a-Service (iTaaS) platform.

The offering is built on the philosophy that initial user engagement with video is increasingly taking place outside of the living room - on one or more connected devices.

With a smartphone-based user interface described as unique, UUX claims that iTaaS will enables a whole new approach to discovery, control and consumption of live and catch-up television and video-on-demand (VOD) content across all devices and screens. The platform is attributed with offering all of the software and services necessary to enable an operator to launch a service without the cost and complexity of traditional on-premise software systems, encompassing traditional software workflows, plus the deployment experience, marketing, billing, content acquisition and other specialized expertise needed to launch a successful TV service.

UUX says that its cloud-streaming platform provides the capacity to manage and support hundreds of millions of daily Internet and connected device interactions for a growing market of two billion addressable online TV subscribers, providing over-the-top (OTT) services to millions of consumers in over 40 countries across the globe.

“We have launched UUX to remove the pain for mobile and fixed operators and systems integrators looking to quickly deploy Internet television services,” says UUX CEO Lou Schwartz, CEO, who formerly held a similar position with Piksel.

“We know that it’s a challenge for even the world’s largest mobile operators to successfully launch Internet television services ... As long as you understand your customer, have access to a network and have a billing relationship with the consumer, we provide everything else you need. We look forward to partnering with network operators, systems integrators and content owners that are ambitious enough to want to provide the consumer with the ultimate user experience.”
