Mediaset drives ‘unstoppable’ online video growth in Spain

Spain’s Mediaset once again leads online video viewing among TV channels, with the group serving up ten million more videos than a year ago.
comscore online junioIn June through the group’s websites, led by Telecinco.es, Mediaset served up 105 million videos, a figure partly driven by EURO 2016 content.
These figures compare to 2015, when Mediaset averaged 95 million per month.
These figures come from comScore data which only counts videos consumed through computers, and not those watched through mobile devices and apps.
Mediaset delivers its own figures regarding the app Mitele.es, which served 25 million videos to 3.3 million unique users in June. Mediaset estimates that over half of online videos are viewed through mobile screens.
Following behind Mediaset, Atresmedia delivered 73.2 million online videos in June and RTVE 11.8 million. Only YouTube and Nowvideo exceed Mediaset’s 3.5 hours of average online video viewing per user and month.
