Colombia’s pay-TV sports network WIN Sports has selected Spain’s Albalá Ingenieros to provide HD broadcasting fibre technology for its on-field system.
crossconnect albalaThe channel, owned by DirecTV and RCN Colombia, has acquired Albalá’s HVM0002C01 Crossconnect equipment to broadcast and monitor the HD video signal produced from football stadiums. The selected product is a double signal converter which transforms 3G/HD/SD-SDI digital signal to DVI.
The 24/7 pay-TV network is widely available in Colombia – scheduled on DirecTV, Claro, Movistar and UNE, among others. In addition, it reaches most Latin American territories through DirecTV Play and its own streaming and mobile platforms.
The Spanish-Colombian commercial operation was carried out by ADTEL LATAM, Albalá’s official distributor in the region. “We know Albalá’s quality and trust this as well as its customer service,” said Andrés Rojas, accounts executive, ADTEL LATAM.
“Through ADTEL we have a preferential position in the Latin American market, which is very important for Albalá’s international expansion plans. In addition, it strengthens our brand in relation with sporting events,” added Vicente Polo, founder, Albalá Ingenieros.
